dunia DOORS Program is a two-year accelerated career progression program in the core banking and financial services functions of sales, operations and risk for high-potential individuals currently engaged in front-line roles in these functions.

Program highlights

The dunia DOORS program is structured into 4 phases that will enable participants to not only acquire critical skills and knowledge, but also test them through real-time application in business.

Phase 1 – Month 1-6 - class-room training every week

Phase 2 – Month 7-9 – Involvement in team challenges and projects on real business issues of strong strategic interest to dunia, and implementation of viable solutions & delivery of results

Phase 3 – Month 10 onwards - Larger responsibility or Team Leader role benchmarked at higher compensation, upon successfully meeting the requirements of the first two phases over the initial 9 months

Phase 4 – Ongoing -Nomination for an external training program at leading colleges, during the second year. Only top-tier, continually performing candidates will be considered for such training(s), based on merit and performance.

Participants will need to continue to work and meet full performance standards on their existing roles in dunia, as well as additionally stretch to meet all program requirements throughout the program duration.

Program modules

During the first 6 months, participants will be engaged in intensive class-room based sessions conducted every week. The program delivery will involve an interesting mix of case studies, presentations, group discussions, and individual and group assignments. Each month will focus on a different theme, and cover key business aspects:

Month 1: The dunia Difference

  • Driving growth through innovation
  • Characteristics of high achievers

Month 2: Understanding the Macroeconomics of UAE and Banking

  • Fundamentals of banking
  • dunia and the UAE banking sector
  • Impact of events (local & global) on business
  • dunia’s financial overview

Month 3: Mastering the Art of Persuasive Selling

  • Customer centricity vs. product centricity
  • Guiding a customer from awareness to action and advocacy
  • Negotiation skills, handling objections and rejection
  • Channel management

Month 4: Ensuring Seamless Operations and Customer Delight

  • Effective customer relationship management – satisfaction, loyalty and delight
  • Dealing with customer remorse
  • Banking operations, capacity planning & quality control
  • Business continuity / contingency planning

Month 5: Understanding Credit Risk and Collections

  • Consumer credit risk assessment and acceptance criteria
  • Effective collections – Treating customers fairly

Month 6: Leading Teams

  • What makes a good leader, different leadership styles
  • Building and leading high performance teams
  • Conflict resolution, motivating team members, delegation and empowerment

This is a highly selective program. The rigorous screening process involved ensures that the class size is restricted to 20 high potential high performers each year. Candidates need to demonstrate technical, behavioral and cultural fit, which would be tested through a 360 degree process encompassing written answers to essay questions, recommendation letters, academic & professional performance assessment, and interviews.

  • At least 2 reference letters from people who have been closely associated with you in a working or academic relationship, and who can attest to your professional abilities. These could include your existing or former manager or colleague, your teacher, coach, mentor, counselor etc. Format for reference letters is specified in the application form.
  • Responses to essay questions enclosed in the application form
  • Other certifications / qualifications
